Berkeley/Sonoma-Marin support groups to feature fun topics at meetings
The Berkeley SCI Active Network's next meeting on Thurs., June 14th has a Handi-Hacks theme that will feature home-brewed adaptations developed by paraplegic Steve Dalton. The idea is to share tips and tricks he's developed that have made life easier and hope that others come to the meeting willing to share theirs as well.
The meeting is from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Ed Roberts Campus located at 3075 Adeline in Berkeley. Food & refreshments will be provided. For more information, contact Troy Plunkett at (707) 342-9458.
Then on Monday, June 18th, the Sonoma-Marin SCI Support Group will host a speaker from Bay Area Association of Disabled Sailors (BAADS) who will discuss how individuals with a physical disability can sail the Bay regardless of their financial means. BAADs offers weekly small boat sailing, keelboat sailing, and Veterans sailing out of South Beach Marina, adjacent to AT&T Park in San Francisco.
The meeting is from 4-5:30 p.m. and is held at the Clubhouse at the Azure apartment complex, 5 Indigo Drive, Petaluma. For more information, please contact Stan at (707) 774-6466 or by e-mail at stankosloski@gmail.com.
