Rich will be recognized with a special plaque and celebration of years of contribution to the peer support program at the hospital.  He became a quadriplegic at the age of 19 as a result of an accident and spent his hospital and rehab time at the same place that would eventually employ him.  He worked at the hospital for nearly 16 years and was a tireless advocate for individuals with disabilities until he passed away in June of 2011.

The BBQ will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the courtyard of the old rehab building that once housed the SCI unit until the Sobrato Pavilion opened last December.  RSVP is required by Tues., June 26th by e-mail at vmcpeersupport@scvmcrehab.org or by phone at (408) 885-2397.
