NorCal SCI connects with Napa SCI Network
“It was great connecting with Jim Burnett and Cheryl Van Scyoc along with members of the Napa SCI Network,” writes NorCal SCI Co-founder Nick Struthers.
“Steve Sanchez, who was my roommate when I was in rehab at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, made the trip up to Napa with me last Friday. Steve, who had already visited the group while he was a Test Pilot for SuitX, directed me to their location and we got set up ready for everyone to arrive,” Nick continued.
Along with the group, they were joined by San Jose State University Graduate Studies students, Colin and Shane who had traveled up from Santa Cruz to solicit feedback on the work of California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) and specifically how it applies to Spinal Cord Injury.
After the presentation, we received some positive feedback on the material we presented and we are excited to continue to work with Jim and Cheryl to best support the SCI Community in Napa. “I’d like to thank them for their hospitality and giving us the opportunity to connect with the Napa SCI Network,” concluded Nick.
