On Sat., Oct. 19, the Placerville Mobility Support Group will host its first Walk & Roll, an event for area seniors and wheelchair users. The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the El Dorado County Transit Authority Park & Ride Facility on Mosquito Road in Placerville and end at Benham Park.

“We are happy to host this event for the community, and to provide a setting for older adults and those with disabilities to get out and exercise together,” said Lynn Murray with the Placerville Mobility Support Group. “The Walk & Roll event will be a fun event, with a route that varies in length to allow for differing ability levels among participants.” The El Dorado County Public Health Division, which promotes a healthy eating active living (HEAL) program, will help provide a nutritious sack lunch for participants and volunteers of the event. The lunch will contain a healthy sandwich, fresh fruit and infused water.

The event is free and open to area older adults, wheelchair users and friends and families. For questions or to sign up for the event, call Lynn at (530) 295-7620.
