San Jose celebrates 12th Annual Disability Awareness Day on Oct. 3

The city of San Jose’s 12th Annual Disability Awareness Day will take place on Thurs., Oct. 3rd with a number of activities, booths from service providers, art displays and demos, live music and food trucks to help celebrate diversity, awareness and empowerment for persons with differing abilities.

Disability Awareness Day was created 12 years ago to promote awareness and appreciation of people with differing abilities and to educate the public on the many challenges people with disabilities encounter every day by providing information and resources. This day celebrates diversity and strives to build an integrated community in which all people are equally valued.

The free event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at San José City Hall Rotunda & Plaza, 200 E. Santa Clara Street, San José.
