Sacramento State University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program is seeking volunteers with impaired functional mobility as a result of a spinal cord injury for its free Adult Neurologic Clinic run by students under the direct supervision of licensed faculty.  This clinic is part of a two-semester adult neurorehabilitation course sequence which runs for one hour, once a week for eight weeks. To view some of the Department's accomplishments, check out their YouTube Channel HERE.

To participate, you must be able to transport to the campus and the class, agree to one home visit, and commit to attending all eight therapy sessions. Students perform an initial evaluation and a home evaluation, provide treatment and design a home exercise program for each participant. Research results demonstrate that participation in this pro-bono clinic improves clinical self-efficacy of physical therapy students.

The clinic for the spring semester will be held once a week beginning Tues., Feb. 25 and ending Tues., April 14. Appointments will last 60 minutes and will be offered at either 9:30 am, 10:30 am, or 11:30 am. Space is limited. For additional information or to express your interest in participation in the clinic, contact Dr. Mattern-Baxter at (916) 278-5766. .
