The quest (and the fight) to finding the right wheelchair

SETH.jpg

“Look, it’s bad enough that we now have to use a wheelchair for (possibly) the rest of our lives but do we have to also fight to get one that fits our needs?” is a common statement you are likely to hear from the vast majority of wheelchair users. The horror stories of vendors and insurance companies wreaking havoc on this process gets your blood boiling and what Seth McBride, a Paralympic wheelchair rugby player, went through illustrates how the deck is stacked against you and unless you decide to bring your A game, you will be cast aside like … an old wheelchair.

Seth experienced his spinal cord injury in 2001 in a skiing incident and also happens to be a writer for New Mobility magazine which published his most recent article on this topic that many of us can relate to HERE.
