Research study conducted by Neuralink seeks SCI community's input on assistive technology
Neuralink Corp. is developing a brain-machine interface (BMI) implant with the initial application of enabling people with paralysis to use their thoughts to directly operate computers and mobile devices with speed and ease. The first version of the implant, called the “N1 Link,” is intended for people living with paralysis due to a spinal cord injury (SCI).and they are conducting an online research survey about assistive technology that was co-created by people with lived experience of SCI to identify priorities and share expectations on the initial application of their brain-machine interface (BMI) implant. The company’s technology builds on decades of research and their first goal is to give people with paralysis their digital freedom back: to communicate more easily via text, to follow curiosity on the web and to express creativity through photography and art. The survey should take approximately 15-minutes to complete. If you have any questions, please contact patient-engagement@neuralink.com.
