After a one year hiatus, due to COVID-19 restrictions, NorCal SCI’s great friend and supporter, Brian King of Global Wealth Partners (GWP), once again welcomed us (NorCal SCI’s co-founders, Nick & Franklin) back to his private hospitality suite this past weekend at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Laguna Seca. Where else can you see and hear historic race cars at full speed doing what they were originally intended to do … race. We also had a chance to meet up with our good friends, the Calcagno family (Jim, Sue Ellen and their son, Dante, who had experienced a spinal cord injury some eight years ago).

This annual event is a celebration of motorsport history that brings approximately 500 race cars together in one open paddock for everyone to enjoy and the featured marque was the Ford in Trans-Am, celebrating the 55th Anniversary of the Pony Car Wars.

The Ferrari Monzo SP2

We truly had the best venue in the whole place, overlooking the stretch of the track where the cars pick up their highest speed before coming to a tight turn where one wrong move can result in a rollover. It was quite a scene watching classic race cars out there and, of course, the latest prototypes also did their part to steal the show. In front of the suite were two incredible Ferrari Monza SP2s parked, one at $2.5 million while the other a steal at $1.8 million, that got a lot of attention. Overall, a beautiful day for all of us who attended the event, thanks to GWP and Brian King for the VIP treatment we all received.
