Outsmarting Pressure Sores: Expert Insights with Dr. Christopher Bo
Living with a spinal cord injury comes with its unique set of daily challenges, but finding clear, practical health guidance shouldn't be one of them. That is why non-profits across the region—including the Triumph Foundation, Spinal Network, Here and Now Project, Nevada SCI, Oregon SCI, and NorCal SCI—have joined forces to launch the SCI Alliance. This brand-new partnership brings together West Coast spinal cord injury foundations to connect our community with trusted experts and practical wellness resources.
To kick things off, the Alliance is launching a free educational webinar series designed specifically to tackle the topics that matter most. The very first session takes on a topic vital to day-to-day well-being and long-term health: pressure sore prevention and management.
Leading this inaugural session is Dr. Christopher Bo, a board-certified physiatrist double fellowship-trained in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine at Mount Sinai and trained at the renowned Kessler Institute. As one of Southern California's few specialized SCI physiatrists, Dr. Bo brings deep clinical expertise and practical insights directly to our community.
During this session, Dr. Bo will cover:
Proactive prevention strategies and risk-reduction techniques
Early warning signs every individual and caregiver should know
Modern treatment options available today
Real-world advice for keeping skin healthy over the long haul
This live event takes place on Zoom on Thursday, August 6th at 6:00 PM. The webinar is free to attend, though registration is required to receive your private access link.
