$54,000 and counting: NorCal SCI's Road To Recovery grant program awards $18,000 to 9 applicants

We’ve been busy over the past three months interviewing many applicants for our Road To Recovery grant program and are happy to announce a class of nine well-deserving and highly-motivated applicants who received a total of $18,000 in grants, bringing our 2019 total to $54,000. We’re currently reviewing five additional applicants which, if they’re all approved, it would put us at a incredible amount of $64,000 with another month to go before the end of the year.

The latest recipients are: Kayla Stockham, Penngrove; Jason Martin, Sacramento; Paul Walker, Richmond; Raul Acevedo, Rio Vista; Emily Habansky, Oakland; Efren Ramirez Vasquez, Madera; Cameron Shaw, Vallejo; Fenwick Sereal, Oakley; Tresa Honaker, Sacramento. All but one were seeking funding to continue their pursuit of additional physical therapy. We also had a handful of applicants which, sadly, we had to turn down for not meeting our requirements.

For 2019, we had committed ourselves to fund a minimum of $60,000 in grants and thanks to the unwavering support of our donors, we have a little more wiggle room in our budget for this year to exceed that amount. To apply, you simply need to review our Road To Recovery Application Page and follow the directions by completing our online application. But hurry up before we close out our 2019 application period.
